La polka fue traída por los austro-húngaros que llegaron en
la invasión francesa de 1847.Los movimientos de esta polca se caracterizan por ser
pasos de punta y talón, giros bruscos y entrecruces rápidos de los pies.

Basado en una antigua danza escocesa. Es un baile de
cuatro tiempos que tiene distintas variaciones según la cultura danzante: los
ingleses saltaban y los alemanes se deslizaban más suavemente.En el caso de la danza adoptada en Nuevo León los
movimientos son suaves, elegantes y con secuencias elaboradas pero sencillas.
